About FACT
The Fisheries & Angling Conservation Trust (FACT) was created in early 2005. It’s membership includes:
- Angling Trades Association (ATA)
- National Association of Fisheries & Angling Consultatives (NAFAC)
- National Federation of Anglers (NFA)
- National Federation of Sea Anglers (NFSA)
- Salmon & Trout Association (S&TA)
- Specialist Anglers Alliance (SAA)
- Professional Coarse Fisheries Association (PCFA)
- Association of Stillwater Game Fishery Managers
- Atlantic Salmon Trust (AST)
- Anglers Conservation Association (ACA)
FACT has continued the work previously carried out by the individual bodies in representing angling and fisheries interests to government and NGOs, and it acts as the focal point for consultation on both fisheries and angling matters. The new organisation has recently established sub-committees, drawing from the membership of the founders and the expertise of independent advisors, to work in the areas of:-
- angling participation and access
- marine enforcement and strategy,
- the aquatic environment and wildlife management
- fish stocks
- promotion and protection of angling
Already, the FACT structure has gone a long way to preventing duplication of effort and will be able to direct tasks to the best qualified of its members. This has added dramatically to the expertise which fisheries and angling can bring to bear on issues of the day. For further information on FACT, contact:
